Upsizing to Green SUVs | Best Automotive Design

Ever since 2007 when the subprime mortgage market crashed the world has taken a different look at how certain things are run. Though a general statement, most families who have struggled with job loss, lowered hours at their job, and other issues have certainly looked at where they could save money. For many who were in a position of buying a car it also meant downsizing to a more affordable version such as a Toyota Prius.

The downsizing occurred because gas mileage was too expensive in the larger SUV. It meant for families that children were more cramped in the vehicle. However, their parents saved money on the driving costs and purchase price of the vehicle.

Now that the economy is recovering and the car manufacturers have received bail outs, the trends are changing again. The trends are changing slowly, but they are nevertheless becoming different.

We are still concerned about high fuel costs at the pump for our vehicles. In recent months we have seen gas prices rise closer to $4 in most states and close to $5 in others. These high costs at the pump make green vehicles all the more attractive.

Car manufacturers are already prepared for such things. Most manufacturers have at least one green car they are working on or have released in 2011. Others are getting ever closer to release new green cars in 2012. Most of the green vehicles are hybrids which still use gas; however, they use a lot less gas. You may get close to 40 miles per gallon with certain hybrid vehicles. You could stop looking for discount loans with this type of car.

Given the SUV sales of recent years manufacturers have struggled with ways to turn these larger vehicles into hybrids that are desirable. For many who need a larger vehicle there are finally more choices on the market. It is possible to upgrade to a larger vehicle again without worry of exceedingly high gas prices given the hybrid status of the engines. Your children can also be more comfortable driving around with your because of the hybrid choices you have.
