Is she or isn't she? Rumors abound that singer Jessica Simpson and her fianc Eric Johnson are expecting. The rumors are fueled by Simpson's seeming obsession with being photographed near to or actually holding babies, and the fact that she's worn some more baggy sweatshirts lately. While there hasn't been any confirmation from Jessica or her people, I thought it would be fun to give the 31-year-old singer and her betrothed a few suggestions for baby names.
If It's a Boy:
- Charlie - After all, what better way to commemorate Jessica's epic tuna-inspired gaffe on her old show "Newlyweds" than to name her first born son after Charlie the Tuna, Star-Kist Tuna's mascot? Hopefully she'll be able to now tell young Charlie whether tuna is chicken or fish.
- Eli, Drew or Phillip - As in Manning, Brees or Rivers, three other highly-rated NFL quarterbacks. Jessica could send a not-so subtle message to her ex-boyfriend, Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo by naming her son after some of Romo's biggest competitors.
- Napalm - As a shout-out to another former flame, Jessica could name her son after the deadly compound that singer John Mayer referred to her sexual prowess as. Napalm Simpson-Johnson has a ring to it, doesn't it?
If It's a Girl:
- Carrie - After getting into a little skirmish with Carrie Underwood, Tony Romo's then ex-girlfriend over a t-shirt Jessica wore making fun of vegetarians; she could bury the hatchet by naming her daughter after Underwood. Hey, bridge building has to start somewhere, right?
- Tiffany or Debbie - Jessica could pay homage to those teen pop divas who came before her by naming her daughter after either Debbie Gibson or Tiffany (no last name needed). Bonus points if she actually were to give birth to either Tiffany or Debbie in a mall.
- Daisy - In honor of the short shorts clad southern belle that Jessica played in the atrocious film version of "Dukes of Hazard," Simpson and her beau could name their baby girl Daisy; Duke would make a fantastic middle name too.
