Massachusetts gas prices inch up a penny

BOSTON (AP) ? The cost of a gallon of gasoline inched up by a penny in Massachusetts in the past week.

AAA Southern New England reports Monday that self-serve, regular is now selling for an average of $3.84 per gallon.

Prices are up eight cents over the past month and are now six cents per gallon above the national average of $3.78. A year ago at this time the Massachusetts average price was $3.45.

AAA found self-serve, regular selling as low as $3.59 per gallon and as high as $4.06.
